Roles and Responsibilities :

You have a broad business experience and will represent the Sanctions Team transversally in Risk, Legal, Audit and Compliance related initiatives and act as a key monitor and advisor on these matters.

Concretely, the Risk Champion role includes amongst others:

  • Contribute in risk identification, analysis, response and monitoring in the Sanctions department
  • Contribute to the decision making process to ensure risk-adjusted decision making
  • Be a key contact point and ensure departmental coordination for any Audit, Compliance, QCA, Business continuity and Legal reviews.
  • You support our QCA activity, Audit activities and LICA testing.
  • You monitor, follow-up and report on I-tracks, IRM support and further support and promote the embedding of the risk culture in the department.
  • You partner to translate relevant policies, regulatory topics into trainings, concrete operational procedures and controls.
  • You act as guardian on departmental manual interventions and exceptions inventories and challenge them on regular basis.
  • You have an overview of compliance procedures (such as sanctions, fraud, money laundering) and you ensure that they are continuously up-to-date.
  • You take initiative to document and communicate intensively to further increase awareness, knowledge and expertise to maintain and enhance the departmental risk management and control framework including appropriate mind set.
  • You identify the impact of actions and decisions affect business results and related business risks as well as share recommendation to adapt as deemed necessary.
  • You are required to work autonomously in different areas of complexity and risk with continuous change management including planning and anticipation vs future structural business needs.
  • You are closely and regularly negotiation with and influencing different internal stakeholders (risk, compliance, legal,...), including Senior business colleagues. You will maintain a close relationship with risk coordinators within ASO and from other areas.

Required Qualifications :

  • You have business experience either in Asset Servicing operations or in Risk and/ or Compliance topics. This will allow to make fact based decisions on the impacts of our actions to other services (especially with income, corporate actions, settlement, network, banking…).
  • You are a good communicator, both verbal and written - including ability to interact, influence and impact different stakeholders.
  • You are able to engage the stakeholders in change – you have a strong continuous improvement drive and ability to support in PSS amongst others and to assist on incident management post-mortems and their follow-up.
  • You have minimum 3 years’ experience allowing you to work rather independently to complement and assist your key stakeholders such as Team Leaders, SPO and BSO. Previous assignments such as Risk Ambassador, Team Leader positions have prepared you for this role are welcome.
  • You are eager to jump into variety of parallel assignments on area of risk, incident management, information security or compliance.
  • You are agile and flexible.
  • You are ready to assist the team in operational incident management and to support in business continuity situations.
  • You like to organise and manage your priorities, planning and agenda autonomously with an effective reporting to your management.
  • You possess a critical mind with ability to manage uncertainty and work on pragmatic manner.
  • Fluent in English
